and company are on the move with the release of their KX5 Slider Remix device.
The KX5 will hit the CDMA market around the third quarter of 2005 and will
come packed with attractive multimedia features. You can expect the KX series
(KX5, KX7, KX9, and KX17) to draw some attention from mobile phone junkies,
but look for the KX5 to be the only slider phone of the bunch.
The Slider Remix comes pre-loaded with a 1.3 megapixel camera and the ability to digitally zoom up to five times. If you need video recording and playback then the video clip option gives you up to 15 seconds of optimal digital clipping. Storage for images, videos, and music is handled by the 16MB on-board phone memory and the TransFlash memory card slot, which currently handles cards of up to 256MB in capacity, in case the 16MB of internal storage is not sufficient. MP3 and AAC audio formats are supported by the Slider Remix and give this mobile a unique edge over other devices. The Kyocera Music Dock comes packaged as a standard feature and allows for easy external speaker attachments, along with the ability to charge the phone while listening to your music library. Gaming couldn't be easier with the eight-directional keypad and BREW 2.1/JAVA applications ready for optional game downloads. The large 175x220 pixel 262k TFT display compliments the phone's features extremely well and adds an appealing marketing element to the phone's release. The Kyocera KX5 weighs in at just over 115g (4oz) and measures 98.8mm x 47.0mm x 22.9mm (3.89" x 1.85" x .9"). Talk time is expected to be around 240 minutes with a standby time of up to 240 hours.
